"Idol" or Drowning Daughter? Mom Chose "Idol"

Sirius BrownA 25-year-old mother of five accidentally left two of her young children in the bathtub last week in Indianapolis, leaving one to nearly drown -- because she was too busy watching "American Idol." Don't worry -- like Luke Menard, the kid survived.

According to a police report, Sheila Brooks placed her youngest kids (Sirius, 3, and Sereena, 1) in the tub and then went to another room to fetch some clothes. After watching "Idol" for a few minutes with two of her other children -- Daesheana, 7, and Dasianaye, 5 -- Brooks suddenly remembered about the other two kids and sent Daesheana to get them out.

The police say that when Daesheana got to the bathtub, she found Sirius submerged underwater and not moving. She called for her mom, who then performed CPR and called 911.

As of now no charges have been filed and Sirius is still in the hospital, according to WIBC radio.

4. This remids me of that story about the parents who let their kid die because they were to busy playing WoW.

On a lighter more superficial note. I've never encountered the name Sirius outside of Harry Potter. I wonder if she named her son for the character......

On Nancy Grace last night it was stated that there was an ounce of Marijuana there with smoked roaches...so this woman was getting high while her two little ones were in a tub of water and for what...to watch tv. This is the type of woman who has no morals or value of life...if you go smoke weed and watch American Idol, then forget you have two tiny kids in a bath, you deerve to be in JAIL!

8. Just helps my argument that A.I. should be yanked off the air. Of course I think the mother if this kid should be strung up in a burlap sack and beaten with heavy sticks until it drips. But I'm still against the idea that we need to make more "Idols" for this world. Don't we have enough? Maybe even too many?

15. Just an F.Y.I. for those who are asking... Sirius is the brightest star in our sky other than the sun. Sometimes called the Dog Star (I believe). That is what the satelite radio service is named after.
