Angry Viewers Demand Gay Love

There's plenty of making out happening on "As the World Turns," but fictional boyfriends Luke Snyder and Noah Mayer are getting very little action. The couple hasn't kissed on screen since September!

It seems as if viewers are not pleased, according to the LA Times. They've started a letter writing campaign demanding the show give the couple some steamy scenes.

Included in the campaign for action is a countdown clock tracking the hours since the couple's last kiss and an online petition.

19. I love Luke and Noah but i get very uncomfortable when they try to do anything physical. I think it looks really forced and the actors (specially Noah) are not very comfortable making out. I can't wait to see how it plays out.

20. This is a show that has no problem showing adultery, attempted murder of an unborn baby, drug use and many
other "sins" but it is not o.k. to see two people in love KIss? P&G stop caving to the bigots!

21. Why in 2008 this is an issue amazes me, but it is.

Their love story is no different than any other duo's on ATWT, except that the show's producer Proctor and Gamble, says they cannot kiss.

Why should it matter? When two people love each other, as the characters Luke and Noah do, why can't they show their affection for each other?

22. I don't watch this soap, but if I did - yep I'd want to see it.
Now on to the only one worth watching (my opinion) - The Young and the Restless.....I'm fantasizing about Michael Baldwin and Kane together......steamy.
Yes I am a stay at home straight woman who says "if you don't like what you are seeing, then by all means, change the channel"!
Peace out bitches!

23. If I have to see unmarried couplings in elevators, on workplace floors, and in their aunt's kitchen on her counter, then I don't see the big deal in letting Luke and Noah show some physical affection.

24. Easy there people of the gay world. Maybe the network was noticing a drop in ratings every time "NUKE " started with the liplockin'.Many viewers are mothers with children home who are too young to understand why are two boys kissing. I don't think they want to find little Timmy doing what he saw on t.v and think it was ok...every parent's nightmare!

25. Would this be called a "Drop the Soap Opera"?

Actually Tipsy, the ratings have gone up from this storyline. And to address your other point. So, little Timmy can watch people being murdered, raped, etc on daytime television but can't watch two boys kissing...which hopefully in little Timmy's lifetime will be more of an accepted concept....you know. ACCEPT ONE ANOTHER.

27. "13. I could care less cause I'm actually working during the day so I don't have to worry about flipping the channels and stumble on two queers kissing. If people want to be gay it's fine but don't subject everyone to have to watch it on tv as well."

Hmm, me thinks you doth protest too much....or you have unresolved feelings about "queers".....what's the matter, afraid of getting your cherry popped?
