Eldest Hanson Hospitalized

TMZ has learned that Isaac Hanson, 27, the eldest of the family trio of the band Hanson, has been hospitalized suffering from a pulmonary embolism, thus postponing their concert in Tulsa tonight.

As the Tulsa World first reported, tonight's show "is definitely canceled." The paper spoke with Ken Philips, the band's publicist, who said Isaac was admitted to the hospital earlier today with severe shoulder and chest pain. "This could be serious, but nobody knows just yet," and added, "We are hoping for the best."

A pulmonary embolism is a serious condition. Blood clots travel to the lungs and can result in death if not treated immediately. Isaac has been hospitalized for this condition before.

Hanson, the family band that drove the kids crazy with the hit "MMMBop," is from Tulsa.

33. Anyone who has anything negative to say about this band especially during a time where he is ill should be shot. You might not like Hanson's music but it doesn't give you any excuse/reason to treat them as if they weren't human beings. He has a wife and infant son that need him. Him and his brothers are also conducting mile long walks during each stop along there tour in support of AIDS awareness and the Tom's Shoes charity. We need more people like Isaac Hanson than we do Britney Spears, who I'm sure half the ass hats who leave negative comments care more about. The good in this world always go unnoticed. GET BETTER ISAAC! This world needs you.

34. Wow some of you are just completely insensitive. Whether or not you think their music is good, someone said it right earlier. He is someone with a new family, and he could've died. Have a heart, people. Get well soon, Isaac.

35. "Hanson sux," your mom left her panties at my house. I'm not giving them back. I'll let Ike have a turn with her as well once he's out of the hospital.

37. I just want to say that Ike was hospitalized in 2003 for a thromboembolism in his right arm, not for pulmonary embolism.

41. This is terrible. I just saw Hanson in concert on Sunday night in Chicago, and they were fantastic. (And Isaac seemed fine..) I really hope he is okay and pulls through. :( Get well soon Isaac.

42. For anybody who thinks this is a joke, it is not. Let me explain to you that Isaac had an elevator door close accidentally on his arm in a Chicago hotel a few years ago. He developed a pulmonary embolism because of that. It was totally unexpected and very scary. He was at New York Presbyterian hospital for two weeks getting treated. Now he has developed complications and is being treated again. This sort of thing could happen to any of us.

45. I've been a fan of the band for years (please get past MMMBop, they've put out some fantastic albums over the years). I also just saw them in concert two weeks ago. All the best to Isaac and the rest of the family.
