Protestors: Vick's Sick

Animal rights protesters are angry over Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick's alleged involvement with an illegal dogfighting ring. Vick was indicted on Tuesday for federal dogfighting charges.

Around 75 animal-loving members of the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals demonstrated in front of the NFL's New York offices on Friday calling for Vick's suspension, reported the Daily News. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has yet to rule on Vick's status.

The Humane Society of the United States held a similar protest at Nike's Portland, Oregon, headquarters. Nike recently decided not to release its newest Vick shoe, though it has seven other Vick-related items in production.

186. Rub deer scent on him and put him in a barn with an antelope.
He'll get the living $hit kicked out of him. That's fun for the whole family.

187. Al Sharpton has become involved with protesting Vick's involvement in dog fighting & started a petition with PETA to remove Vick from the NFL if found guilty. Russell Simmons & a heavyweight fighter are also part of it. I signed it- go to PETA if you want to help remove Vick from the NFL if guilty & sign the petition. I'm suprised because I didn't know he's been involved in animal rights for some time now. I'm with him on this.

188. Vick's a complete barbarian who needs to be locked up for good. If he takes such pleasure in systematic animal abuse, just think about his potential to kill a human. Jeffrey Dahmer started out with animal abuse as did many serial killers. Lock him up! He's a murderer.

189. Uh Gina here we go again. You want us to sign a PETA petition because some notable, "cough!!!" people are signing it. Lets see one is a reverend preaching politics/publicity hound, and the other is an ex drug dealer pushing another kind of smut to us and our kids thats just as lethal ! See thats what I mean by hypocrite and PETA sometimes are no better for "throwing red paint on people". I applaud you and everyones convictions but to me after reading everyones comments its crystal clear that most all you guys seem a little BLOOD THIRSTY!!! : - )

191. Michael Vick has disgraced himself and the NFL. These overpaid athletes are disgusting when they do nothing to help the underprivileged. The brutality to these animals is unspeakable. If he is found guilty 6 years is not nearly enough time in jail. I will not buy anythng Nike again until they have totally seperated themselves from this monster.

192. What Vic supposedly did is disgusting and no animal should be bred or trained specifically for fighting. However, I find it laughable that so many people are NOW calling for a boycott of Nike when people should have been boycotting them years ago for using child labor in Southeast Asia, paying unfair wages, cheating workers out of pay, and refusing provide safe working conditions. Where is the outrage for that? Like someone once told me, Americans care more about their animals than they do about their fellow human beings.

193. Vick has made it to the top. He beat the stacked odds against him and became a very wealthy man because of his sports talent. Seems to me that he has way too much time and money and doesn't know what to do with it. Hence, the dogfights. What a waste. And what a shame because he is supposed to be setting good examples for the young, desperate, kids who live in poverty every day who may just have talent like his but will never be able to break through to get to the top, where he is. I am going to enjoy watching him go down. He deserves to lose it all and I can't wait to see the karma come down on his stupid head.
