Elliot Mintz No Longer on Paris Patrol

Just two days after a judge sentenced her to 45 days in jail for violating her probation, Paris Hilton's longtime publicist Elliot Mintz has announced he is no longer representing the heiress. In court Friday, Paris claimed that it was Elliot who had mistakenly assured her she was able to drive, even though she had a suspended license. The judge, however, didn't buy her claim, and sent her to the slammer.

TMZ contacted Mintz Sunday evening, who issued the following statement:

The day after the hearing, I sent an e-mail expressing my sadness over the ruling of the judge and the irrational sentence he imposed. In that e-mail I also offered my sincerest apology for any misunderstanding she received from me regarding the terms of her probation. To the extent that I have miscommunicated information I received from her attorneys......I am deeply and profoundly sorry. I told her that I assume personal responsibility for my part in this matter. I believe when stated in court that she believed it was o.k. for her to drive under certain circumstances she was being absolutely truthful. Due to this misunderstanding, I am no longer representing Paris. For the record, I have nothing but love and respect for Paris and her family. Paris is a wonderful person and does not deserve the punishment that was handed down by the court. I only wish her my best.

61. Here is a woman, and I use the term lightly who thinks she is above the law and can do as she pleases. She knew what she was doing was against the law, but being Paris Hilton, she thought, who would stop her. Her mother who cursed the system, judge, is an enabler, and now I can see why Paris ended up this way. Paris needs to take responsibility, not find a scapegoat who will pay the price for her.

By the way, what did it cost the Hiltons to get Elliott to draft up that ridiculous little speach? There is no question he was paid some big money to come forward with that. He'll be known as a wimp of a man who gave up integrity, who took the fall, who took the money for some spoiled wrotten heiress who is accustomed to having her own way, and took the law into her own hands. How many other celebs has this heiress tainted. But, DUI, she feels she can get away with, buy someone off, name drop because of who she is. The jail sentence must truly be bothering Paris and her family, more than we realize and for that I say bravo. Paris needs to be held accountable. If she had continued to get away with whatever she wanted, the message would have been, because of who she is, she can do as she pleases and contiune to, becuase who's going to stop her, she had always bought or privledged her way out of situations. Well, no more Miss Hilton. Your money and family connections mean nothing. This time you will pay the price. Let this be a lesson to other celebrities who think they can do as they like, because of their celebritism, and money. Those days are over. A precedent has been set.

And to Elliot, you are a fool and an enabler. No wonder you work for the Hiltons' instead of they working for you. Try and find work moving forward, try and find respect moving forward.

62. By the way Paris, you shouldn't be operating or driving a vehicle if you don't know or understand the law. And pleading stupidity just means to me you should never be able to drive. How did you get your licence in the first place, send someone else in to write it for you? Sorry Paris, this is one lie of yours we are not buying into and you can't get away wtih . Thankfully the legal system did the right thing here and stood up to you. And your mother, what a loser she is. I can see now how you ended up the way you are - you had a partner in crime, but time now to take responsibility and grow up and act like a decent human being. You didn't impress the courts, and finally there was a judge who was not going to be bullied, forced or bribed into turning a blind eye or allowing you to abuse the system. You have just gone that far that society is sick of it. And to Elliott, you are a scape goat, but worse, you're the kind of guy the Hilton's want; who'll do exactly as they want. They can buy you and bribe you and get you to do anything they want, and becuase of that you are being held accountable and taking the heat, not they. If you stood up to Paris, you'd not have had the job you had, but you would at least have had your self respect. Working for these clowns can't be easy, but we all know they hire yes people, who will never tell them the truth because they don't want to hear it. Your letter of apology proves that. You are a fall guy, a scapegoat, so that they don't have to deal with the truth. And the Hiltons bought you becuase they could. Shame on you, on them. Paris is now getting what she deserves and the judge is no fool.

65. Paris acts as stupid as she looks. She knew better and drove anyway. There should be no blame on anyone but Paris. The rich ....... has been getting away with things for a long time, she needs to pay just like the poor people do. Only thing is, she has lots of money to pay lawyers for and poor people end in jail because they can't pay. I don't feel sorry for her at all, she needs a touch of reality, what the real world is like. Get your head out of the clouds. Paris is no better than anyone else. Money doesn't give you smarts, only lets you buy junk.

66. Paris is a big girl, she shouldnt or need to have someone tell her she shouldnt drive, she was in court and signed a paper that stated the she dont drive, now I know shes stupid but if she was to sign a paper that stated that all her money was taken she would have known that, shes telling a story that she didnt know she was to not drive, she just thought that she was above the law and she cant be held accountable, we the people think she should do 45 days in jail,I think there a new show on TV when shes there; The Simple Life, now we need a documentry on prision life and Paris would be a perfect for that part

68. Can you even begin to imagine Paris in an alcohol education program? LMAO Come to think of it, I wonder if she even got her driver's license using the appropriate procedures. I mean come on, can you really see Paris standing in line at the DMV with all the "normal" people????? Judges hear all sorts of ridiculous reasons why the guilty shouldn't receive punishment. Welcome to a bit of the real world Paris, sucks, doesnt it? And her "mother" is getting some air and photo time out of this. I'm sure that if my sister had gone through this, the last thing our mother would have done the day after is take her SHOPPING! By the way, where has the sperm-donor, er "father" been during all this ?????

69. If Paris really thinks she is a "victim" of cruelty, she has some real living and a reality check due to her. If this is the worst thing that ever happens to her, she better get down on her knees and thank the good Lord above!!!
If she's competent enough to drive, then she should be responsible enough to KNOW for herself what the status of a court decision is. It seems like she just goes through life making excuses for any of her mistakes and avoid responsibility. I believe that she knew about her license being suspended but chose to drive anyway. Afterall, the "Parasite Family" does pretty much whatever they want, and most people probably just give in to them because of who they are.
Just another in a long line of spoiled rich bratty snobs who think they aren't like the rest of us. They just pretend to be when it benefits them in some way! Most people are jealous of her, they are just sick and tired of people like her thinking they're better than the rest of the world. She was even late to her court date, but that's okay, cuz she's a she's a Hilton!!
If she had to live EVERYDAY like many other people, or like the situations that are acted out on The Simple Life, she would be devastated! She probably thinks that many of those situations are cruel too. Would love to see what her and Nicole really say about that stuff and the people when the camera's aren't on them. Phony as a 4 dollar bill!!!
