Celebrity Justice
45 Days, Her Ass?!

Just because Paris Hilton was sentenced to 45 days in jail, it doesn't mean she'll do the time. Because of overcrowding and other issues, L.A. inmates often get sprung early.
Paris and Michelle
Former "Lost" star Michelle Rodriguez was sentenced to 60 days in the very same facility in which Paris is scheduled to do time for the very same offense -- probation violation over a DUI conviction. Rodriguez served a grand total of 2 hours before jail officials told her to get lost.

Stay tuned.

46. Paris is NOT above the law. She's NO different than anyone of us. The only thing the judge didn't do that he would have do to anyone of us, was had her cuffed today and taken right to jail instead of letting her wait until June 3rd. Paris be ready for that strip search. She might even become someone's bitch. Paris get use to 45 days of showering in front of all those woman who don't give a damn who you are. NO one should feel sorry for this self-descructive millionnaire. In fact, her mother, Kathy, should be going to jail for tanting the judge and city attorney. Her motheris dispectable for not raising her daughter the right way. Paris you have what all of us dream about. So go do your time Paris cuz NO one should feel sorry for your sorry ass. CAN'T YOU READ PARIS Are you that dumb of a bleached out blonde?

47. Spend a day in criminal courts & you'll see people get time for driving on a "DUI" suspended license. Mandatory minimum is 10 days. When you get a DUI, cops take your license & give you a temp one. It specifically and clearly says it is good for 30 days & after that your license is SUSPENDED for a year. She was mailed notice, a cop let her off once with a warning. She has lawyers, assistants, managers, publicists, parents & oodles of $$$, can't anyone READ! Isn't it more likely that she thinks she's above the law 'cause she's Paris. Sauer is a pretty even-handed judge, she'll get good time credits & an early kick for overcrowding. She'll be out in 10 & back on her vapid party circuit. The world will still spin, soldiers will still die in Iraq for no reason, but Paris will be just fine!

48. This is incredibly uplifting. Paris does not need to serve her whole sentence, and there are many more people 'worthy' of taking her place at the LA county jail...people who pose a REAL threat to society.

I truly hope that this shocking sentence will appease the 'haters' and those thinking that Ms. Hilton will finally be treated the same as 'everybody else.' Well, sorry to break it to you guys, but Ms. Hilton isn't like 'everybody else.' Because of who she is, serving a jail sentence will be 10x more debilitating than if you and I served.

This is a great blow to the judicial system who pandered to the pressures and inane responses of the American general public. I am ashamed by this and only hope that once the spotlight has been shifted from this particular news item, real justice can be served; in other words, Paris' sentence will be revised to a lesser term or maybe even overruled and instead deemed to community service.

Good luck, Paris, you've always got someone supporting you...never forget that.

49. MVDD,

You're stupid. Where is the special treatment. The onus is on you to prove that she's being treated harshly.

50. #28...OMG you think that Kathy is pretty? Tells us lots about you...err your friends.

They both are so plain, only the money has made them known to us.

I will personally be working on Paris doing the time...like all of us would.

As a parent, this story has made me feel so proud of my parenting and daughters.

Please have Paris do her total time so my girls see that it doesn't matter who you are , consequences are in place.

51. MVDD, YOU are incredibly uplifting! So nice to hear that a girl who does 70 in a 35 mph zone at 11:00 with no lights does not "pose a REAL threat to society." This is so awesome! Ms. Hilton -- or should we say Dr. Hilton -- has educated us once again as to who should get away with what in our topsy-turvy world. That confused, ignorant judge obviously does not know that jail is for poor, ugly, obscure people who got drunk on Ripple instead of Cristal and got caught on their jalopies on Boyle Drive, not in a Bentley on Sunset.

Paris still has so many goals to achieve in her young life, such as topping Nicole Richie's exploit of driving the wrong way on the freeway.

Free Paris!

52. David's post (#2) HAS to be a joke, right? He can't be serious. Hilton is the epitome of a no-talent spoiled-rotten self-centered "celebrity" who's famous solely because she's rich and released a tacky porn video online. She's the Zsa-Zsa Gabor of the 21st century, i.e, a joke.

I'm not jealous, I'm disgusted. She and her family have done nothing to help the less fortunate. She should be given a one-way ticket to some poor country like Somalia -- THAT would teach her a lesson.

53. Until late last year, overcrowded jail facilities in the county had led Sheriff Lee Baca to release most inmates early, including immediately processing out anyone sentenced to less than 90 days in jail. That is no longer true, and Baca's spokesman, Steve Whitmore, said Friday that his understanding of the judge's order meant Hilton was likely to serve the full 45 days.

I got this from latimes.com. Maybe there is hope!

55. People are watching very closely at this one. A radically reduced sentence will make Rocky look like a fool.

56. i feel like she should get whatever is required for these paticular offenses! She is NO better (to say the least) than the rest of us NOR is her money greener than mine! I DO NOT drink BUT don't judge one who chooses to do so. However, by her reckless driving -i will have my opinion about this & to say she was endangering her life (her choice) BUT there are innocent people out there who are KILLED by DRUNK drivers & i say they (drunk drivers) should get the MAX!! INCLUDING -MS.Paris Hilton. I feel she got away with too much as it is & a chance for her not to have to do a measly 45 days is BULLZHIT! If i had my say she would do 45 + . She gets a slap on the wrist what if she killed 1 of our children-driving drunk??

57. Although this will be a trial and tribulation that she will have to endure, I believe that this entire ordeal will change the way she looks at the world in a brand new light. No more crazy events, crossing the line, etc. This will put things into perspective, and change her entirely. God Bless her, and may the other socialites of this day and age learn a little something because as we all know, I think Justin proclaims it quite nicely, "What Goes around, Comes back around."

58. It all boils down to your rank in life. If you are rich, you can hire lawyers and get a pass card. If you are poor, you can get a "free lawyer" and plead circumstances and environment and get a semi pass...........if you a middle class, working your butt off, look out, you are going to do your time and then some....................
