Rapper Eve Busted for DUI after Maserati Mash-Up

UPDATE: Police sources tell TMZ that Eve's blood alcohol level was "double the legal limit."

TMZ has learned that rapperista/actress Eve was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after she crashed her gold Maserati on Hollywood Boulevard.

Eve (real name: Eve Jeffers) was driving in Hollywood around 2:45 AM Thursday when she hit the center divider, totaling the front of her car. TMZ was on the scene, and observed that after cops arrived, they placed her in handcuffs, and (according to our staffers) she was "visibly upset" as they led her into a squad car. We've learned that there were two people in the car with Eve at the time.

The multiplatinum-selling Grammy winner starred with Vin Diesel in "XXX" and had her own self-titled sitcom on the UPN.

TMZ is standing by at the Hollywood division, Los Angeles Police Department.

UPDATE: TMZ has confirmed that Eve has just posted $30,000 bail and was released from Los Angeles County Jail. The rapper covered her face, as she was picked by yet another Maserati.

16. Let's see drunk drivers kill MORE people than guns every year. But they want to take guns away and do nothing about drinking and driving. Slap on the wrist. And I noticed in my local police booking reports that all mexicans arrest for dui or other driving offense had no drivers license's. Now if I go out driving with no license I will pay a big price for it. but they are here illegally and are not even deported. Wake up people or this country is doomed. My local town already has a little mexico. The mexican population here has quadroupled in the last four years. Signs in spanish are every where. I have no problem with people coming here LEGALLY to make a living, but coming here illegally and not learning the language, driving without insurance , driving without a license, getting FREE medical care, free education, etc.... it is beyond ridiculous. And neither republicans or deomcrats care about what the voters want. Stand up America while you still have some what of a voice. Tell the law makers you want strict immigrations laws enforced, you want strict DUI laws to protect you and your children, you want affordable health care(not government run), you want LOWER TAXES. I am tired of keeping up LAZY BUMS who just do not want to work. I will give the mexicans credit the will work hard. And that is probably why they are not being deported. Quit letting libs and entertainers run this country.

17. I like Eve a lot but I am tired of hearing about celebrites drinking and driving. It is such a selfish thing because they endanger not only their lives, but everyone else on the road. What saddens me is that they can afford to hire a driver. What's the problem with Hollywood celebs?

22. Ok guys seriously...can we just read the story for what it is. This has nothing to do with race. Another stupid celebrity who thinks that they're above the law gets behind the wheel after drinking and gets nailed when they should've just called a limo or a cab, or waited to sober up. I don't understand why someone always has to try and find a way provoke a racial argument on a message board.

30. Glad to see these fools get busted. They always think they are above reproof. But, why do they cover their heads? This seems so foolish.
