"Undercover Brother" Crashes $1.5 Million Ferrari

Comedian Eddie Griffin saw his life (and his bank account) flash before his eyes Monday after he smashed a $1.5 million Ferrari Enzo into a concrete wall during a charity event at Irwindale Speedway, leaving the ultra-expensive sports car a smoking pile of twisted metal.

The high-speed collision, captured on tape by KCBS in Los Angeles took place during rehearsals for a charity event called "Race for a Cause." Griffin, who starred in "Undercover Brother" and "Norbit," left the crash scene in an ambulance, although he did not suffer any serious injuries and seemed to be in good spirits.

The luxury automobiles used in the charity event were part of a promotion for the film "Redline," a movie about the high-end world of high-performance sports cars.

31. Oh the humanity....wrecking a car like that. He shouldn't have bought it if he did not know how to drive it. I engine is in the back so the damage can probably be buffed out. I agree that a standard insurance policy would not usually cover the damage caused by racing. I bet the guy standing behind the concrete barrier crapped himself.

32. So-called celeb or not, what charity event would entrust a car worth this much to someone who probably hasn't any qualifications in driving either this type of car or on a track, let alone apparetly speeding? The crash was probably caused by the driver's ego getting carried away and he wanted to prove to the onlookers just who he was and what his stuff was made of? Call him STUPID!

33. Their fault for letting this dumb ass get behind the wheel of it. Last I checked, comedians are in no way qualified to drive that thing.

43. That kills me. They only ever made 400 of those cars. Not just any rich idiot could buy them either, Ferrari pretty much had to invite you to buy their car. They were trying to keep idiots with money away.
