Stallone Charged with Importing Steroids Down Under

StalloneJust moments ago, Sylvester Stallone was officially charged with illegally importing performance and image enhancing drugs in a Sydney courtroom, according to the Sydney Morning Herald.

According to Australian authorities, the 60-year-old action star, who did not appear in court, was caught at Sydney Airport with several vials of a steroid known as hGH (human growth hormone), during a random baggage check. Customs officials claim they found a total of 48 vials of the steroid after they raided Stallone's Sydney hotel room, limousine and private jet.

Stallone will be required to enter a plea on April 24. If found guilty, he faces a maximum fine of $22,000 Austrailian.

According to steroid.com, "Bodybuilders may illicitly self-administer hGH to improve size and strength, usually by subcutaneous injection into the lower abdomen." HGH has also "become a popular but expensive medication prescribed in anti-aging therapies."

Stallone was visiting Australia in February to promote his latest film "Rocky Balboa. Calls to Sly's rep were not immediately returned.

Reps for Stallone had no comment.

2. Sounds as if wife Jennifer Flavin-Stallone's skincare line, "Serious Skincare" isn't helping Sly as well as the Mrs. claims on HSN during product hawking. He was an "A-Force" lover!

4. First off you are a dude commenting on a 60 year old guys looks.

Big suprise here. It is impossible to build the amount of mucle at age 60 that he did for his newest movie. There is nothing wrong with taking this drug responsibly. If done correctly there is no side effects accept for feeling younger and looking better. Any DR. would love to be able to prescribe this to people over the age of 45.

9. Oh no, not Stallone, too. We expect it (sad to say) of young celebs but now even "Rocky" is in trouble with the law.

Scientologists out in Hollywood are starting to look good compared to the rest of the drunks and druggies!

10. I guess they don't call you SLY for nothing!!! He must have just purchased it cause if he's been using it for awhile....its not working.

11. So sad he hasnt publicly commented on this, other than to say "its all a misunderstanding"..whats to misunderstand? You're taking HGH, legally or illeglly, but transporting that stuff into any country you feel like isnt right.

I'm sure it will come out that he's taking it under that anti aging guru's regime and not for the body building qualities it brings. I did notice his head and face getting larger and an even more pronounced slurring of his words.

Not sure its working Slyvester...why not just age gracefully and naturally, using diet and exercise...seems to work or a lot of people...

Hope the exposure brings an even hotter spotlight to its use in Sports.

13. OK, Stallone is taking HGH which is probably not good for him. However, he's not a professional athlete who is cheating on the competition. Stallone is in show business which relies upon looks and image. His sin is no worst that those who continually butcher themselves at a plastic surgeon, inject collegen, roast themselve on a tanning bed or replace hair and teeth. So, let's not get so high and mighty when a 60 year old still wants to look 30. The only person he's hurting is himself and he knows it's a calculated risk.

14. Is anyone surprised??.......... REALYY??!!!! I have a seven year old son that wants me to buy him weights because he see's guys like Arnold Schwarzenegger, Lou Ferrigno, and Sly, ect.. and wants to be BIG just like them! Cuz they're strong!! At AGE 7, I had to explaine to him that most, if not all of those guys got that way by CHEATING!!! I want him to know if he decides to lift weights {when he gets older, of course} that Steroids are deadly. It's sad our kids idolize these guys and the realality is, they're FAKE!!!!

15. I really dislike Sly. I was watching part of Rocky IV last night, and it reminded me of all the crap movies he's done. He's actually got some talent (the first Rocky, First Blood, FIST), but, man, he's a joke now. He took too many easy paychecks. Now he's taking HGH. Ugh....
