The People Who Saved Britney

Britney Spears had to be convinced, cajoled and even badgered into giving rehab a fair shot. We're told three people may have made all the difference.

Britney's mom, Lynne Spears, has been frustrated but undaunted in trying to convince her daughter that she had a problem and needed help. Before Kevin took custody, it was Lynne who protected the children. She has also made Britney and the kids the priority in her life. Britney has railed against her mother; but Lynne refused to back down.

We're told uber-lawyer Laura Wasser stuck with her client as Britney appeared to self-destruct. Many lawyers are notoriously impatient and even intolerant with clients who defy orders and reason. Wasser must have figured out Britney's problems were bigger than she -- and stuck by her side.

Kevin Federline has also been a staunch supporter of his estranged wife. According to several sources, K-Fed has "stepped up to the plate" in Brit's time of need, taking care of the kids and offering Britney and her family support. He has also shown the pop princess tough love; denying her access to their young boys, even when she begged him for it. That, our sources say, was excruciatingly painful for Kevin, but he knew it was the best thing for his wife and his children. We're also told he is being "extremely reasonable" in the divorce.

33. Illness? She has an illness? You are kidding right-this is just someone's way of saying she is not accepting responsiblity for her actions. What a horrifying example for those 2 kids!

34. What a joke this whole thing is. Oh sure K-Fed is there but all he's thinking about is getting back into the money!!! Everyone always has the almighty dollar in mind. Money rules......

35. Who would have though Kevin would have come out smelling like a rose? But could you blame him for how he was? The girls worth millions and a celebrity. WHY should he have worked? I wouldn't want my husband working either...I'd want someone to hang out with. That's the most precious thing money can buy, time to do whatever you want without HAVING to work. However, I still think Brit should retire. She's beat in my book. Go back to Hicksville and raise them boys.

36. Kat-calling the fact that you do not know how or when to quit a disease is just another way of leaving that door open in case you decide to stop coping again. I am a reformed alcoholic-not a recovering one. I decided & chose to stop drinking-I did not blame it on genetics or alcoholic parents. I have no enablers-I am a drunk that does not drink.

37. There's only one Savior, and that is the Lord Jesus Christ. If Britney would repent of sins, and accept Jesus as her Lord and Savior, and believe in heart that God raised Jesus from the dead, then and only then will she be saved. It's really sad to see an unbeliever go through this alone.

40. My son suffers from a chronic illness and it pisses me off when I see people like this purposely screwing themselves over when they were given a chance to live a normal life unlike other people. I don't feel sorry for her one bit. YOU are what you want to be.

42. happy to see Kevin is not the monster that the media made him out to be. Not letting her see the boys was what pushed her over the edge, and it worked. I have to say, Britney's drug use likely caused depression, I have a feeling the post pardum thing is a bit of a cover up. Jason Alexander came forward that she has been a habitul cocaine and ex user for year. I know from my experience with drugs that it messes up your head

43. In fact, her people always blame somebody or some "thing", when in reality, it is all her fault. Im sorry, but I do not have much respect for her. I know people in way worse situations then thispop tart could ever find herself, and they do not blame everyone else

45. Britney Spears, or whomever..... these Hollywood stars can do, say whatever they please. And we feel sorry for them when they are found to have addictions. To get into the business of stardom, you have to be a little dysfunctional. It is the public who is at fault. Why do we put these people on pedestals? And why are they so important to the public. I am sick of listening to their problems.... life is tough and there are plenty of people who have life addictions and handle it....
