Paris Hilton: Dim Bulbs

Paris Hilton got herself a brand spankin' new Bentley ... and promptly broke it.

The heiress was spotted last night as she left Area nightclub in a dazzling silver 2007 Bentley Continental GTC Convertible -- a car with a one-year waiting list. Photogs and a cop oohed and aahed at the shiny new wheels just before Paris drove away.

One minor bug -- the driver's side headlight and taillight never shut off after Hilton returned home!

Perhaps the car comes with silver jumper cables.

Update: Special shout out and thank you to all of our luxury vehicle-driving readers who brought this to our attention: Since none of us here at TMZ own Bentleys, we were unaware that the low-density headlights are actually a safety feature, allowing the car to be seen at night. Looks like Paris got herself a great Christmas gift after all.

16. Yes, Dee and Prnzez, I have a thought or two, and along those same lines.

I have a special disdain for those with money and who don't care about helping others, even once in a while. Or, those that do help (with whatever frequency) but do so only when it benefits them in some way.

Why? Because of that old saying, "You can't take it with you", which refers to money and other riches when you die.

Since this is true, there is no reason why people should not help someone in need (when they can) to a reasonable degree. Remember, it's not how much money you give to someone asking for change, or what you think they'll do with it. It's that you gave them SOMETHING, which helped them IN SOME WAY. Whether it's a way that you approve of, or not.

Do I "walk my talk"? You bet I do, even though as a video producer, I haven't hit the big time yet. Sure, there's times when I don't have time to help or can't give someone money, but I make the effort. And I do it without recording myself, or making sure someone else sees me.

As far as Ms. Hilton, or those that give their money away to OTHER rich people (can you hear me Mr. Buffett?), I secretly wish they would wake up one morning and suddenly have to WORRY about their next meal, or how they'll get medical attention for that wound in their leg that's really starting to get very bad. I wish they'd experience the despair that can consume someone's life as a result of having absolutely nothing and no one to help them get on their feet.

We all know shelters and charitable organizations have limits. And yes, I know some people don't WANT to improve their lives and prefer handouts. I'm talking about those that DO want to change how they are barely living.

Still, I try not to gauge "eligibility" when I help someone. I'm no saint, but I try to do my part as often as I can.

Just my two cents.

17. Paris is becoming ever more beautiful!

And I think it's great that she is maturing and starting to think about others. She made good New Year's resolutions, and started the year out right by visiting sick kids in Australia.

We all know that Paris loves kids , so don't start bashing her about that too. With some haters, Paris can't do anything right. Some posters are just sick in their heads with all that hatred.

21. How is this a story? And how many "fans" are actually Hilton, Mintz or TMZ? Nobody likes this talentless ho. Nice planted story by Hilton's publicist team. Why didn't you guys report on her getting fired from Club Paris? You guys have gone soft on her.

23. #21. Paris does make alot of money compared to the average person but she does not make nearly enough money to pay for the lifestyle she has. It was reported that she made almost 3mil in 05 but she lives in a 10 mil house (that would need to be furnished w/ very expensive furniture ofcouse) w/ a 70k rover a 400,000k+ merc another 100,000k+ bently and now even more expensive bently on top of that (convert cost more than hardtop). She gets alot of free stuff but then we also hear about her dropping 20k on various shopping sprees. She is not just spending her own money.

24. 3mill to herself is better than her sitting on her ass with her inheritance.....give her some credit. she doesnt have to work a day in her life and she is. FYI:her old bently is a convertabile too....its a hard top vert.

27. No doubt that car "is hot"...but something about Paris Hilton driving it in her matching silver outfit (carefully planned no doubt) and the cheesy music blaring as she drives home from yet another hard day at work (tha club) -- is just soooooooo gay. Gay as in lame. Gay as in "why the f*** are a grown adults watching a barbie doll play in real life".

Yes she's pretty, yes she's lucky to have a rich daddy. But there is a lot more fascinating people than that. I used to play with Barbies until I was about 10 years old...after so many times of dressing them up in so many outfits and playing out so many perfect life scenarios...even a kid gets bored.

She's probably photographed more than princess Di was....need I point out the ridiculous comparison.

28. #26DAN I'm tired of replying to u so this will be the last time. Paris doesn't deserve to be given any credit. She is NOT a hard worker. If she had a good work ethic she would have graduated from high school. All she does is simply pose for pics, pretend to sing, splash her name and image on things she had no part in creating, and walk around w/ cameras following her as she says "That's Hot" and "Loves it". This does not constitute work. The only reason she does any of this is so she can be famous and see her pics in magazines. Do u really expect us to be believe the she is a career minded girl who has a passion for any of the things she does-like "acting". Ofcourse not which is made evident by what little effort she put into her album or any of her movies. Oh, FYI: Her previous Bentley was a hard top coupe. Bentley does not make a hard top convert. That is why they made the Continental GTC. C standing for convertible. A car company wouldn't make a hard top convert and then turn around and make a soft top of the same model. That wouldn't make sense. Next time look it up.

29. A hot car for a hot girl, I love Paris . And she has many fans around the world.

People who have their own lives together rarely feel the need to bash Paris Hilton. It's the have-nots who get bent out of shape at her life style.

The funniest thing is when people couch their envy in "concern for the millions of starving people". Like they really care, lol.

30. # 12 Oh yeah help is available in our country. We can't get any from any gov.organization for medical treatment. My husband is on the transplant list and we don't have the money for his uninsured medical treatment.Unless we have the money for medication for afterward they can't do the transplant. We have tried everything even trying to do fundraising .Oh yeah our goverment will help. We both are disabled and live on a very limited income. If the Paris Hiltons, and other wealthy people would give more to this country's needy and stop thinking they have to have a new Bently for every day of the week. All americans would have food, shelter and medical treatment. We have had to choose between medication and food Now. Yes, even in our great wealthy country.. It isn't choosing between education and what car to drive. This is a life or dealth situation.
