Paris Hilton got herself a brand spankin' new Bentley ... and promptly broke it.

The heiress was spotted last night as she left Area nightclub in a dazzling silver 2007 Bentley Continental GTC Convertible -- a car with a one-year waiting list. Photogs and a cop oohed and aahed at the shiny new wheels just before Paris drove away.

One minor bug -- the driver's side headlight and taillight never shut off after Hilton returned home!

Perhaps the car comes with silver jumper cables.

Update: Special shout out and thank you to all of our luxury vehicle-driving readers who brought this to our attention: Since none of us here at TMZ own Bentleys, we were unaware that the low-density headlights are actually a safety feature, allowing the car to be seen at night. Looks like Paris got herself a great Christmas gift after all.

1. She doesn't know how tro correctly turn off her lamps and apparently cocked the switch too far to the left which will allow only the driver's side lamps to be illuminated. She'll just end up running her battery down a little. No biggie.

5. German cars - Bentley is owned by Volkswagen - have a safety feature in which if you park the car on a street with bad visibility, you can turn off the car and leave the blinker to the left or right to keep the driver's or passager's side dimmer lights on, respectively. It is not broken neither it will drain the battery. It's the way it is built. She must have made a left turn into the driveway and left the blinker to the left.

7. I could be wrong, but the head and tail lights were probably "parking lights" that a lot of high end euro cars have so that they are not smashed into when they are parallel parked on tight euro streets. Paris still sucks regardless.

8. um, hello, some of those European cars leave those lights on all the time (at night) so people don't crash into them.... it's not a bug.. it's a feature.

10. Right Dan. Oprah, Madonna, and Angelina r setting horrible examples by helping be in countries where there isn't any help available. They should focus all their time and money to the problems of a people who live in the wealthies nation in the world. It's not like there is an incredibly powerful gov that has ELECTED officials to do that. The car is awsome but Paris ruins it. She already has a Merc Mclaren, Rover and a matching hardtop Bently GT. This girl never donates anything to anyone so this is totally overboard.

11. Um, Hello... some of the high dollar cars have the driver-side parking lights stay on so when the car is parked on the street, people don't crash into them...

it's not a bug.. it's a feature!

14. #4 - Last week Elliot Mintz, her publisist, said in '07 Paris would start visiting childrens hospitals where ever she goes because she believes it's the right thing to do. That's the first charitable thing she's done in life, but of course she had her publisist put it out there for the media to report so it comes across more self serving then about the kids (she's doing it for publicity). What does she have to offer sick kids? Is she going to the boys her scabbed-over p***y and put makeup on the girl? Come on!

On another note, who thinks Elliot Mintz looks like Beverly Leslie from "Will and Grace"?
