76. My thoughts are this on the matter. If socially acceptable by one group then it should be for all, since there are the screams of equality always in the air. It is a word of ignorance no matter who says it! So why not be above it in the first place. All this does is stir the proverbial racial tensions sh*t pot anyway. 77. This whole N- word thing is a bunch of BS! People need to stop pulling the damn racist card and get a life! Black people call white people crackers and every other name they can think of. Get over it! I hear it almost every day. Blacks use the N-word more than any other race! How come that doesnt offend blacks? But as soon as another race says it look out its a law suit or a public apology! About a month ago I was in Birmingham Alabama for business and I stayed at the Sheraton downtown. During my stay there was a national dance competion going on there. For 3 days there where over 1,500 blacks running up and down the halls and calling each other N***ers all hours of the night and acting like complete jackasses! If you want respect you have to give respect! GET OVER IT AND GET A LIFE!

78. Are you freakin kindin me?!! Its Damon Wayans. What fallout is he going to face? He is black that last time I checked. He can say it as many times as he wants. In fact, his opening line: "Give yourselves a big round of applause for coming down and supporting 'N***** Night." That made me laugh when I read it. Thats comedy! For the Laugh Factory to call that particular night "Chocolate Sundaes" , there should be a fallout on the club. I grew up on Prior & Murphy and they revolutionized the word by opening it up to the publics ears. They joked about it. What Richards did was different. What Andy Dick did was just plain ignorant and stupid. Richards feels bad as it is already to have this happen. Now, Damon Wayans is being attacked. A black comedian is being attacked for using the word N**ga. There are alot of Black comedians that will not be showcased nor want to perfom at the Laugh Factory over this. This is just getting ridiculous now. And for those (if any) people who were offended by what Damon said...the hell with yous and get a sense of humor cause that was funny.

81. People give too much power to words and try to change or ban them. Wouldn't a better solution be to try and change our actions and our deeds? Its not a word that hurts or holds back people, its the thought process that goes into using the word that is really damaging.

As a black female I say we comprimise and do it this way.......Let whosoever use the word but let them also suffer the consequences of when and where and under what circumstances they use it. I think that would stop lots of people after they start having to remove bricks from their mouths...lol

84. He's so talented, I am dissappointed in him for going there. His idol, Richard Pryor, dropped the word after a visit to Africa, over tweny years ago. The word is ugly, regardless of whose mouth it's coming out of.

I'd like to clarify something to all people that are not of the black persuasion, there are a lot of people who do not use nor like being called N*GGER, by anyone whether it be a black person or anyone else for that matter. Also there is no BLACK person who calls themselves or another black person N*GGER, the term some use is N*GGA which is different but still degrading.

Secondly, the question why is okay for a black person to call someone else who is also black the "N " word...

Example... Your mother pisses you off, you tell your sibling that "Mom is a Beyotch"... Of course you don't say it to your mother.... If some other person, no matter what their race was called your mother a BITCH, you would be offended and want to confront the person for calling your mother that offensive name, even though you may have felt that she acted like one...

I don't agree with banning the word used for comedic purposes or for dramatic effect in a movie etc., what people are not grasping is when Michael Richards used the word it was used as an insult to someone in the audience of a show he was performing at, not as part of his routine... Andy Dick did not use the word in the same manner so I don't see it as a racial insult...Stupid maybe ...
