Scary Spice Pregnant With Eddie Murphy's Baby

TMZ has learned that former Spice Girl Melanie Brown, aka Scary Spice, is four months pregnant with Eddie Murphy's baby. The news comes amid rumors that the couple will marry next month.

A source tells TMZ that Brown came into the hip Le Bra Lingerie boutique in West Hollywood on Saturday and was gushing about her impending birth.

Brown, who has a 7-year-old daughter from a previous relationship, is a frequent shopper at the store and admitted the pregnancy had her feeling tired. Brown added that she was concerned she may be carrying twins since, she noted, they run in Murphy's family.

While on her shopping spree, Melanie picked up nearly $5,000 worth of Eres lingerie for herself and about $300 worth of La Perla men's undershirts and underwear for Eddie.

In April, Murphy's divorce from his ex-wife Nicole became final. The "Daddy Day Care" star has five children with Nicole and another son from a previous relationship.

Murphy's rep told TMZ "We do not comment on Mr. Murphy's personal life."

Calls to Brown's rep were not immediately returned.

33. well i think its fine its their choice and hey its not my baby so why should anyone care just another human on this earth its not like when i have twins or kids or when even im 4 months pregant its going to be public. and twins if eddie's the father the kids would have his genes so she could have twins if it runs in both families.

41. So? They are having a baby together, I don't understand all the negativity. He's divorced, so its not like he was cheating on his wife. Yes, his wife was gorgeous but they still got divorced. If him and this woman care for each other good. All of you who are making hateful comments sound like its bothering you on a personal level. Also, its not like they can't afford to have a child. Good for them, I wish them luck and a healthy baby.

44. What a complete bonehead. She doesn't have a basic understanding of biology, but she's bringing yet another child into the world? I can live with the fact that they aren't married, but for her to say that she's afraid she might be carrying twins because they run in his family is just...well, SCARY (pun intended). Also...at four months, she should have had prenatal care and would know if she was carrying twins. Or maybe stupid obstetricians run in Eddie's family?

Twins occur when one of two things happen: either one sperm and one egg unite to form a zygote and then it splits to form two identical embryos (these are identical twins and this happens complete spontaneously...it has nothing to do with genetic predisposition), or two eggs are released by the MOTHER and they are both fertilized by two separate sperms cells. There can be a genetic predisposition for this, but it ALWAYS has to occur when the mother releases more than one egg. There are millions of sperm...that has nothing to do with it. This is what happens sometimes when people take fertility drugs. So no, the male side of it has nothing to do with whether or not a couple has twins.
